What is my IP

This is probably the most frequently asked question. Now before we give our understanding, it is imperative that you know what IP stands for. It stands for Internet Protocol. As the name suggests it is the established manner in which Devices communicate. Now just as the case when you wish to request the attention of your colleague or friend, you callout using their name, but for devices these names are represented using Digital numerals .

There are two main reasons for this, foremost Computers don’t understand human readable languages, secondly language is finite, and since device communication is a sensitive area, the need for uniqueness is very essential. For tomorrow if someone sends out an office memo from your email, advising all employee to take a week off, if not for IP, you will be first person to be sacked.

Meaning, though the miscreant could have breached the office email security protocol, he or she wouldn’t have access to your office laptop. For the simple reason given that your laptop is a personal affair and assuming that given the sensitive of information present in your laptop, you wouldn’t give its access to anyone, with little bit of investigation the IP that was responsible to causing this mayhem can easily be traced and both you and your job would be vindicate.

Who Assigns the IP
